California sophomore Alyssa Brewer won the girls 400 and 800 at the North Coast Section Tri-Valley Area Championships at Foothill High in Pleasanton. Brewer clocked 55.05 in the 400, then ran a state-leading and U.S. No. 5 2:07.71 in the 800 to emerge as the favorite entering the Meet of Champions.
